Generally speaking, you should apply for jobs that you are qualified for. Do not apply for a job that you know you are not qualified for or do not even have the slightest related knowledge or experience. You will be wasting your time as well as the time of the client.
However, you should not be discouraged if a job has a long list of requirements that you don’t meet some of. For example, a job would require 3 years of experience, while you only have a year’s worth of related work. If you feel that you have the skill that they need, go ahead and apply. You can highlight your skills and the value you’ll bring should the client decides to hire you.
It will also be helpful to understand the job requirements fully. Some requirements are a “must” or non-negotiable criteria, while some would be “nice to have” requirements.
